A LETTER TO MY BODY

A deeply personal portrait experience, helping you reclaim your power.

As Seen In

Dear Body,

I want to take a moment to thank you for everything you’ve done for me, even when I didn’t fully appreciate or understand your worth. You’ve been with me through every moment of my life; every joy, every challenge, and every milestone. Today, I choose to embrace you for exactly who you are, without judgment or conditions.

Thank you for being my home. You carry me through the world, allowing me to experience its beauty. Your strength, resilience, and grace never cease to amaze me. Even when I pushed you too hard or doubted your abilities, you continued to show up for me.

I am grateful for the way you move, for how you bend, stretch, and adapt. Thank you for the rhythm of my heartbeat that reminds me I am alive, the breath that flows through me, and the warmth that sustains me. These little miracles happen every day, and I don’t want to take them for granted anymore.

To my scars and imperfections: I see you now as stories of survival and growth. You’re proof of a life lived, lessons learned, and battles won. You’ve made me unique, and I am learning to celebrate that.

To my reflection, I choose kindness over criticism. You don’t have to fit anyone’s standards but my own, and those standards will be rooted in love from now on. I’m learning to see you not as a collection of flaws but as a work of art; flawed, yes, but real, authentic, and mine.

Thank you for being patient with me as I navigate what it means to love myself fully. I know I haven’t always treated you with the respect you deserve, but I’m here now, ready to honor you and take care of you in the way you’ve always cared for me.

You are enough, just as you are. And so am I.

With love and gratitude,
Me

Those who appreciate their bodies experience a 34% reduction in stress-related illnesses as they’re less likely to rely on harmful coping mechanisms.

Welcome to A Letter to My Body, a transformative photography experience designed to help women embrace all parts of who they are.

Through this project, we invite you to celebrate your self love journey by highlighting both the parts of your body you’ve felt insecure about and those you love.

Before your photoshoot, you’ll write a heartfelt gratitude letter to your body, honouring its strength and beauty. During your photoshoot, we’ll create stunning, artistic portraits that help you reframe how you see yourself.

At the end of this project, your letter and two portraits will be displayed in a powerful gallery exhibition. We will showcase a portrait of a part of your body you love, and portrait of a part of your body you’re learning to embrace, reminding us all that we hold the power to rewrite the narrative of self-love.

Our goal is to show you and others that beauty is a mindset, not a shape or size. Your friends, family and strangers that will view your portraits at the exhibition won’t be able to differentiate between the part of your body you’re learning to love and the one you’ve already fully embraced. Both are equally as beautiful and worthy of love and celebration.

Join us in this empowering movement to embrace and celebrate yourself, just as you are.

WHO IS THIS PROJECT FOR?

  • This project is for every woman who has ever stood in front of a mirror and focused on what she thought wasn’t enough.

  • It’s for the ones who’ve carried insecurities in silence, hidden parts of themselves, or felt the weight of society’s impossible standards.

  • It’s for the woman ready to reclaim her body, to celebrate her beauty, inside and out, and to see herself through a lens of love and empowerment.

  • Whether you’re on a journey of self-acceptance or looking for a bold step outside your comfort zone, A Letter to My Body is for you.

  • It’s for the women who are tired of being their own worst critics and are ready to embrace every part of who they are.

THIS PROJECT IS NOT FOR…

  • Individuals uncomfortable with vulnerability. If someone isn’t open to exploring or sharing their personal feelings about their body, this experience may not resonate with them.

  • Anyone unwilling to participate in the public gallery aspect. The project includes displaying the photos and letters in an exhibition, so it's not ideal for those uncomfortable with having their story shared publicly.

  • People who desire that airbrushed fully retouched look. This project is all about embracing you; every fine line, stretch mark, scar, roll and imperfection that tells your story and makes you beautifully you. If you prefer a perfectly polished portrait, that is totally ok and we love helping our clients with any level of retouching they desire. However, if this is something you’re after then booking a regular photoshoot with our studio will be a better fit.

Why Jenn started this Project

Society has conditioned us to look to celebrities, influencers, and social media for the next "beauty trend." We’re constantly bombarded with messages encouraging us to change how we look to fit in. While I can’t change the culture of social media, I can create a space that feels different; a safe and welcoming place for women to share their feelings about their bodies without fear of judgment. My mission is to challenge the narratives we’ve carried for decades, to redefine how we see ourselves, and to begin appreciating the parts of our bodies we’ve labeled as “bad,” “ugly,” or “not enough.”

I began my own self-love journey almost a decade ago. Back then, I could list far more things I hated about myself than things I liked, and it took a heavy toll on my mental health. Our thoughts shape our actions, and because my thoughts were dominated by negative self-talk, my actions reflected that negativity. I made poor choices in relationships and health and neglected my happiness because I felt undeserving of anything better.

Eventually, I hit a breaking point. I was exhausted from the shame and guilt I felt every time I looked in the mirror. I knew something had to change; not just for me but for my 3 year old daughter. I wanted her to grow up with a healthy, loving, and confident mom. I wanted to show her what it looked like to prioritize yourself so you can show up fully for others. That’s when my journey toward self-love truly began.

It wasn’t easy, and the path wasn’t linear. There were moments of progress and moments of setback, but with time and consistency, I began to see profound changes. I started to heal my relationship with my body, to forgive myself for past harm, and to replace shame with hope and gratitude.

This internal transformation didn’t just stay within me, it rippled outward. I became more present and loving with my daughter and family. I regained the confidence to restart my business after a 2 year break, which has grown into something I’m deeply proud of today. I met my husband, and for the first time, I held myself to the standards and boundaries necessary to build a healthy, loving relationship. I surrounded myself with friends whose values and energy aligned with the life I wanted to create.

Though our bodies are external, learning to love them is an internal journey. It’s incredible what happens when we decide that we are enough. You are enough to love. You are enough to respect. You are enough to receive. You are enough, just as you are.

This project is my way of helping women feel worthy, beautiful, and enough. Because when you begin to embrace your worth, the impact goes far beyond feeling confident in front of a mirror. It transforms your relationships with others and yourself. It influences your children’s lives, your career, and your opportunities to build the life you’ve always dreamed of. And it all begins with you.
